4H question...
hey out there....i don't have an owners manual for my '98....
and I'm curious....what is the max speed you can run in 4H? thanks! aaron |
i believe as high as the truck goes

98 means you don't have a center differential and you shouldn't be running it on pavement (or at least taking turns) or you will cause binding in the drivetrain. Binding = not good.

And I quote (from my new 98 LTD's manual)
"H4" Use this for normal driving on wet, icy or snow-covered roads. This provides greater traction then two-wheel drive" AND (For AT) Shifting between "H2" and "H4" To shift from "H2" to "H4", reduce your speed to less then 100km/h (62 mph) and push in the "4WD" button. (MT) ... reduce your speed to less then 80km/h (50 mph) and move the front drive control lever. It goes on to say that shifting out can be done at ANY vehicle speed. So the sky's the limit. Save your tires max speed and of course your local laws :) |
