3rd Gen Sliders

Well, I finally got some sliders for the 4Runner. I was told about some 3rd Gen sliders for sale on Craigslist. After checking them out, there appeared to be exactly what I wanted: Square tube main rail, 1 3/4" .120 wall outer rail, powder coated, with gusseted frame plates. I called and talked with the guy who had them for sale. I found that he and a buddy are starting an offroad fab side business called PNWFAB.

I talked with Karl and he was a very nice guy. He said he was in business with his buddy Joe, who welds for a living. I decided to give it a shot and check the sliders out. They were down in Oregon City, OR. I went down and they had the sliders all ready to weld on. They got them exactly where I wanted them and welded them up. It was very nice doing business with some local guys who are trying to get their name out. I was very impressed with the look and apparent funcionality of these sliders. They look to be very stout.

Karl said they are just getting started and plan on doing sliders and maybe more producst down the road. They have a web-site that is under construction right now (PNWFAB.com) and they should have more products coming soon. I would definitely recommend these guys when they start getting more products available.

Anyways, here are some pics:

i believe they are weld on and the guys that made them even did the welding for him.

How much did they cost? Wouldn't mind a set of good-priced sliders and custom bumpers.

Jdizzydub Feb 12, 2008 10:36 AM

Nice lookin sliders! How muchie??? Or City is only 2.5 hours away for me and I'm in the market.

X-AWDriver Feb 12, 2008 12:23 PM

Can they be bolted on? How much for the pair?

I'd rather go bolt-on since I'd like the choice to remove them for any various reasons that could pop up.

I paid $350 installed. They are just getting started and are doing measurements on different rigs to see what vehicles they are going to continue making them for. They said the Toyotas are very easy since they have nice straight frame rails to where other rigs have to have oddball sized legs.

I asked them about bumpers and they said they did not plan on making them just yet. Not sure if bumpers will be in the works for the future or not. He made it sound like it is going to be a side business for them for a while and they are going to keep their regular jobs for now.

I am not sure if they are going to be shipping items or not. The best thing to do would be to email them at the address on their website (PNWFAB.com). I know it is under construction, but they said it should be up and running in the next couple of weeks.

As for pricing, I am not sure if they will stay this cheap or if this is somewhat of an indroductory rate. I was glad to be able to take advantage of this price for a great product.

How long are the rails? I would like to keep my front SR5 mud flap.

totally off topic but where is the wire for your cb antennae? and how do you route it into the hood

It has one of the coax cables that grounds in one spot to the antennae mount and connects do the bottom side of the antennae with that lower bolt. Kind of hard to see the wire from the angle of the pic since it is on the other side of the mount. As far as routing it into the hood, I just run it through the hood channel and into the engine bay.

Wow, those look really nice, and locally made as well. I'll definately give these guys a shout really soon.

My wife asked me a few weeks ago: "Why haven't you purchased something for me to step up on to get into the truck, I can't believe I have given you permission to mod your truck and you haven't done it yet"

Talk about a  :con: :guitar: :banger: moment!

Thanks for posting this up!!!
