3rd gen 4runner - OME 3" kit - will 305's fit?

I currently have a 3" spring + shock Toytec OME lift on a 2000 Limited.

I have a local friend selling some 305/70/16 tires, practically new.

If I get some 16 x 8 rims with 4.5" backspacing, will they fit without rubbing? Or am I stuck with 285/75/16?

You can easily get your answer with doing a search for "305" and doing a bit of reading.

They should fit without any rubbing at least around town maybe a little at full flex.

i'd say probably not, back...probably fine, if you're running stock wheels you'll rub in the front

Rubbing isn't the worst thing in the world, as long as its just some plastic that I can trim away. I'm concerned about rubbing on the control arms or other suspension components.

This guy doesn't seem to have any problems: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/3...z-pics-113170/

According to this thread, I need a 16 x 8 rim with 4" of backspacing to accomplish those tires w/o rubbing. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/w...0-bs-ok-99871/

my bad, didn't read the bit about the new wheels. from what you've listed you should actually be fine. worst case scenario pick up some half inch wheel spacers for assurance

Anyone else want to chime in before I pull the trigger on rims & tires?
