3rd Gen 4Runner Body Lift Install

I took some time of renovating my house and tossed the 1 inch Roger Brown body lift in finally.

It looks real good, took 1.5 hours so was pretty pleased with that.

I have a tubular front bumper so there was no need to remove the factory one, this saved time.

Wanted to post, so people can find it in a search for time estimates.

Before doing mine, I heard some people say 3-5 hours...

Tim

I've done numerous body lift installations and 1.5 hours for a 3rd gen is faster than the norm. For someone who has never done a body lift install before 3-5 hours is more the norm IMO.

I agree. I put a 1" on my '02 and it took me about 5 hours. I had never done anything like this before, so I took my time and kept reading the instructions as I went.

I had never done a body lift, but have turned a wrench once or twice,,,,I used hand tools only,,,,,,,,,unfortunately I am cursed with some mechanical ability

not having the front bumper made a big difference I think

shifter still goes in fine, but I know it is tapping the floor/tunnel when going into second..

for now it will stay as it is, eventually I will pop it open, trim it

Well arnt you lucky I can come get that thing and put it in the paint booth and finish it up for ya. 67? doing a complete restore on a 71 split bumper z28 just went to do the floor pans saturday and relized the whole floor not just halfs need to be added along with the trunk and door frame bottoms. Also just ordered rear frame rails to do the 12 bolt tub job may be pulling the 327 for a 572 6 speed. Its not mine its my friends but he and I do a lot of playing around he just sold a 63 bubble top Biscayne we dropped a 454 into to do this 71 big mistake but you live you learn

Yeah I can see how having that front bumper off would help. Funny though, it looks alot different from how mine came out.

I've done 2 body lifts now on 4runners, and it took me at least 3 hours with air tools, and two people. And, I was working quick.. wtf?!
