3.0 Throttle Body Spacers

I want to know if anyone has a Throttle Body Spacer on their 3.0V6. I have 94' 4Runner with the 3.0V6 and I have someone who will make me a Throttle Body Spacer on his CNC machine. Has anybody tried one on their 3.0V6 and if so, does it work...?

Nope but DOA does have overboard T-bodies. I think a couple other places will do it if you send your T-body in to them.

All a throttle body spacer is going to do is mess up the tuned runners on your 3.0. No offense, but Toyota went to considerable lengths to tune your intake for maximum. Probably about as much time was spent on headgaskets and studs for our high output engine....

err...on second thought. It's your money. Let us know how it works out.

i'd a use a material called Phenolic. you only need about 1/4" width... but it drop the manifold temps down alot... almost cold enough to put your hand on the intake.

Here's is a company that specializes in them: http://www.outlawengineering.com/index.html

Absolutely a waste of money. Couldn't think of a bigger waste of money. You will not notice any difference on, or off the dyno.

Spacers have been around for a long time. I know on carburated engines, they provide more torque. Never seen one on a FI engine.
I'ts worth a try. If you can get it fairly cheap, try it and if you don't like it, take it off. Unless someone has actually tried it, no-one knows if it is a waste of time or money.

"Never seen one on an FI engine" That's because they don't work on an FI engine. And yes, they can work on a carburated motor with the right combination of additional upgrades.

"Unless someone has actually tried it" Uh, yes. And I've seen the dyno sheets and it didn't make any difference...but that didn't keep me from machining them for my 'friends' in high school at my dad's machine shop and selling them for $75 each...

I machined my last part in 1993, my freshman year in college. I never sold one to someone I liked, just stupid spoiled ricers driving hondas that mommy and daddy bought.

I have found out through some research of my ownn that you can only fit a 3/8" throttle body spacer on a 3.0 V6 4Runner engine. The problem lies with the bottom of the throttle body itself, if you move it out any more than 3/8" the coolant tubes that run on the bottom hit the fuel injection rack. Thanks for the input, I have gone with the cold air intake instead.
