2cnd gen V6 A/C condensor fan question

Hey there. To owners of 2cnd gen V6 4runners with air conditioning.
I installed aftermarket A/C on my 91 runner along with the Taurus fan.
I've set up the fan so it kicks in when the A/C compressor is on to draw air throught the condensor.
I'm thinking about going back to the stock engine mounted fan and was wondering if the stock A/C setup included a pusher fan for the condensor.
I guess I'm hoping my A/c will work fine without a pusher fan.
Thanks.

Nope. No pusher. Should work fine.

Yes. My 95 has a small pusher fan (stock) for the condensor.

I have a pusher on the front of my 95, and the Taurus pulling.

Thanks for the help guys. It looks like the earlier 2cnd gens did not have the pusher.
I'll give mine a try without.

My 91 4R SR5 3.0 has a small pusher fan on the pass. side of the condensor. I also have a taurus fan and am installing a 140A alternator so I can run the fan on high since the stock alternator ain't cutting it. Why do you want to switch back to stock? My bearing plate went bad($950. for the part alone) so I had to go electric to keep the 4R on the road.

My 93 has the AC pusher.

don't get a new alternator, just get the proper controller for the fan and it will only run as fast as it needs to...

jns, The Taurus fan has been working great for the last year and a half but, I've been towing various trailers ranging from 1000 to 3000 pounds this summer and find that I'm running a bit hot on the hiqhway, whether I'm using my A/C or not.
I never has this problem with the stock setup, so I'm hoping it stops the running hot.

Mine doesn't have an electric fan. No problems with AC or engine heat. (Gave it a really good test this weekend, no worries.)
Looks like *maybe* the 5speeds didn't have an aux electric fan and the autos did, perhaps because the radiator, a/c condenser, and trans cooler needed the boost.

I'll have to chime in with bamachem's advice on the "proper controller" (check out his post for the link) as you'll be much happier with that setup.

Also, have you done the "Big 3/4" grounding wire upgrade to help the altenator with the battery's charge recovery ? These upgrades all kinda go hand in hand and/or compliment one another... if you're gonna go, you should go all the way ! :bigok:

90' Runner, with 5 speed and I also have the small pusher fan in front for my A/C
