22rte stock pistons, how much boost can they take?

I'm about to get my short block 22rte rebuilt and was wondering if any one knows how much boost they can take. I'm thinking about buying the LCE turbo pistons and putting those in, but I'm not sure if I should spend the money. If anyone knows about the stock pistons or has upgraded to LCE pistons, please give me some advice on what you think I should do.

Jeff Moskovitz is probably the one to ask. Do a Google for his site. He isn't a member of this board.

Lightbulb LCE is sweet

I don’t think it is the pistons that need to handle the boost but they help control the compression. I think it is the head gasket. I don’t know a lot about turbo though. As far as LCE they are a grate company and if you have any questions just call the tech line. Ask for the head mechanic. I just rebuilt a motor using their 22r block and rotating kit, kind of pricey but some way sweet parts. I put a 20r head on it and it runs strong and torquey. I would defiantly recommend there motor products.

Bull˟˟˟˟.
I'd like to see a 12:1 motor, or even 10.5:1 handle 7 psi.

its not boost that melts pistons. its detonation pre-ignition that melts and breaks ring lands and pistons.

I already took the block down to the machine shop to get it rebuilt, so problem solved.
