Newbie here guys so patience is appreciated. Looking for a rear diff lock. I just picked up a super clean '03 Tacoma for cheap but the rear diff lock has a crack in the housing. I live in Northern Wisconsin and fear that salt and road grime will work its way in there and completely ruin it. Local dealer will sell me a new one for $750 but I can't swing that so I'm hoping somebody on here has one that they would be willing to part with. Found a couple salvage yards that have them but they want me to purchase the entire axle assembly for $1000 plus! I have heard from a Toyota tech that Toyota has replaced several of these due to them not engaging but the problem was that they needed a different seal and a cleaning so there might be some floating around out on the net. The tech is keeping an eye out for me in case he stumbles across one but I would prefer to get it fixed sooner rather than later and have no idea when he would find one.
