2003 Taco - SPC Adjustable Upper Control Arms Don't Fit Steering Knuckles
Hello,
I purchased front and rear Ironman strouts and shocks. It was recommended to upgrade the upper control arms. Today during installation we ran into an issue with the adjustable upper control arms not connecting to the existing steering knuckles. what is the fix or alternative steering knuckles I need to purchase to make the SPC adjustable upper control arms work? |
I got a pair of Icon upper control arms, but they might be similar. Instead of the ball joint being pressed into the steering knuckle and bolted to the UCA, the Icon arms flip that and have the ball joint mounted in the UCA, and bolting to the knuckle. That required some adapters to be pressed into the large hole in the knuckle where the ball joint was removed.
Looking at SPC's website, it looks like they are dong something similar - those things on the lwoer left of theirpic: https://www.spcalignment.com/HiRes_Images/25460.jpg |
The SPC upper control arms include slugs & circlips that fit the spindle.
