According to my math I'm getting 15.4 MPG, mostly city, stop and go in full time 4WD.

My computer says 6.6KM per liter.

Oh, 3.4L V6.

I am getting an outrageous 13 mpg in town, and my suv has only 600 miles on it...

I am getting very frustrated cause it says on the manual that you can get EPA 17/21 (town/highway)... :dunno: why does toyota put these numbers on their brochures, when they are not accurate...

Is it V6?
Maybe there is too much donkey piss in your gas.

venom:

give it 5000 miles before you really gripe! :)

The first 1000 miles, the computer is learning your style of driving. After that the mpg will settle alot. when you hit 5000 miles, you'll notice the mpg settle to the point where it's back to normal...

probably not your problem but...

I know someone that got a new 4runner in late April. They rode in mine and the first thing they said was that I had the gear selector in the wrong position. I had it in D and they said it should be in 3.

I explained that D was correct and if you have it in 3, you will only use gears 1-3 an not 4th. I asked what kind of mileage he was getting and he said about 13 MPG.

Man you should have took his keys from that person! They don't deserve to drive such a fine truck.

This is why I'm scared to buy used vehicles sometimes.

thats what I thought

I agree - I thought the same thing.

On top of it, his next question was do you know how to use the 4 wheel drive selector?

venom79 07-10-2003 07:51 PM

hehehe... I definetly drive on D, and with 2wd... well I hope gas mileage settles for better after getting 5000 miles on my suv, cause gas is extremely expensive where I live... believe it or not, US$ 3.42 per gallon for premium unleaded... :bang:
