2001 4runner turned it off acts like I dropped a valve

I drove it to work about 15 miles ran great no over heating no check engine light nothing out of the normal. I turned it off went to work came out for lunch cranked over for a hot second I hear a light clunk cranking stops.I try again just the a click of the solenoid. things I have tried replaced starter (Denso) no change. Replaced starter relay no change. Rotated the motor counter clock wise till I assume compression stopped me (plugs in) tried to start it cranked over about 3/4 of a turn maybe more light clunk. I know the motor is a no interference motor but I checked the timing marks they all line up. I checked the oil I checked for possible head gaskets signs nothing out of the norm. I am thinking I dropped a valve? Any thoughts welcome! and thanks!
