2000 tacoma shake.

I have a 2000 Tacoma that has a shake in the front drivers side tire I can physically see it shake going down the road. I also jacked it up and the wheel has some play. ive had it at the shop multiple times they replaced rotors, pads, tie rods. problem is still there. it gets worse the more its driven what could this be????

if inner and outer tie rods are replaced (good time to replace steering rack dust boots), and lower ball joint has been replaced with OE, and since the upper ball joint rarely wears out, I would suspect the steering rack bushings are shot causing the entire rack to slip back and forth, very common issue on older trucks like these,(could also be the guide inside the rack, uncommon, but that can be adjusted or cheaply replaced) the lower ball joint on a Taco is better than the 4R, but if it fails its still catastrophic, so people have been replacing them as routine maintenance, on a 4R I change the lower ball joints at 200,000km along with the rad just incase. The lower Ball joint won't show much play until its to late, so my bet is the rack bushings, easy fix really, best way to tell is have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth well you look at the rack to see if it siding back and forth an 1/8' to 1/4"... Welcome aboard.

try doing a balance and rotate on your tires, watch for egg shaped tires/broken radials
