2000 4Runner Limited 4x4 - Tires?

Hello all,

This is my first time posting so feel free to teach me the way. I am pricing out some BTGoodrich All Terrain T/A KOs for my truck. The recommended size is 265/70/16 (10.7width/30.7diameter). I was also looking at the 275/70/16 (11width/31.3diameter). The difference is only 0.5"(0.25" all around). The guy at the tire shop all but yelled at me when I asked to go up a size. Will they fit w/o a lift? How big can I go on stock suspension? Where can I get them real cheap? Thanks for your help!

shouldn't need a lift. expect about $175 each.

Thanks. Did you mean the 265s or the 275s? I just want to make sure the things won't rub.

you could also do 265/75/16s.

a guy in my parking lot has 285/70/16s on his 1998.

The 2000 Limited seems to be an odd year. I am really concerned about dropping the cash on 265/75/16s if that 1" difference will be too much. I don't think there are too many people out there with BFGs on the 2000 limited. If there are, please let me know what I can get away with. The 265/70/16s look pretty close to the struts as is. Thanks!

I currently am running 265/75/16s on my truck with no problems at all and the suspension is stock.

you can run stock, 275,70 and 265/75 with no problem. I know this b/c i have run all three sizes before i did any suspension modifications. I would go with the larger size(265/75) if you do any off-roading.
