1999 4runner Radio Power problem

A few weeks ago with nothing really changing, the radio stays on after the key is turned off along with the power antenna. Neither the Haynes or Owners manual states which fuse operates the Radio. The Radio does shut off when the Dome fuse is pulled. I am guessing this is the 100% power for memory line.

I am guessing there is a short external or internal to the radio tyeing the two powers together.

If I knew which fuse specifically is for the radio, I could measure the voltage there with the car off and see if I can read anything. If not, the short is likely inside the radio (Guess)

The Haynes electrical diagrams are not much help as they don't lit one for the 4runner specifically, so I am not sure which one to use.

Long winded story over. Do you know which fuse powers the radio with the car on.

Thanks

There should be a fuse under the dash that says "Radio" If not, then its the Cig Lighter fuse.

Do you have a factory radio btw?

Thanks but under the dash neither of those fuses appear. I am talking about the fuse box on the left side lower portion of the dash. The fuses there are:

Blank----------ACC 15A-----Power 30A
ECU-IG 10A---Gauge 10----ECU-B 7.5A
Turn 15A------IGN 10A----Horn/Haz 15A
Wiper 20A-----Blank--------STA 7.5A
4WD 20A------Blank--------Stop 10A

It also is the factory Radio

In my 2001 4Runner the factory radio gets power from the 15A Dome fuse, under the hood, and also the 15A ACC fuse. The Dome fuse has power all the time so you're probably correct in assuming that it is for the memory. Sounds like somehow the radio is getting powered by that circuit instead of the ACC one. Check the wiring connector and see if you can find a short or broken insulation. On mine the ACC wire is grey and the Dome wire is blue/yellow.

I can get the entire wiring diagram for a 1999 4Runner and emal it to you, have to wait until I get home tonight though. PM me an email address if want it.
