1997 4runner 4cyl 2 wheel drive manual

At any speed above 10 miles per, but considerably more exaggerated(worse) at higher speeds. When performing a "swerving" turn, as to avoid something, the vehicle does a violent wiggle(so to speak), not so much a wobble, but as if the back of the vehicle is coming around; almost like "snaking". It's temporary and only happens immediately after swerve. It gives the sense, that at high highway speeds the vehicle would roll over.
I have viewed YouTube videos on the "Death Wobble", which is not how this vehicle reacts.
This vehicle is an island car, so has been subjected to a harsh environment. I recently purchased it only because i need an inexpensive vehicle for a few months. However, what ever may be the issue, makes it nerve racking to operate.
Thanks for your time.

It's probably worn rear control arm bushings or lateral control rod bushings.
A common problem.

decent guess, also maybe you have a blown or broken shock. The upper rear shock mounts are known to rust out in environments like yours.

Boy Howdy

After the advise I received here, a closer examination revealed a broken end of the lateral control rod. The bushing housing on rod had rusted/worn through on passenger side and was dangling.
However, the closer examination also revealed rusted holes in rear shocks, so there is all kinds of fun stuff happening under the Rusty Beast!
