I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 Reg Cab 4X4 Manual Trans pickup that I love. I recently got sucked into a ditch and my passenger side door and fender got a little banged up . I originally thought I would track down a door and fender to replace and make it look good again. By chance I stumbled upon a 1996 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 Extended Cab 4X4 Auto Trans pickup for sale that is the same color as mine. Although this pickup has an ARB front air locker and a Possi Rear end which I assume means e-locked? The owner said the arb locker needs to be rewired the switch does not work but the locker works with a jumper wire. My thinking is I would buy the pickup swap out the door and fender and swap out the differentials. I also thought I might swap the beds and anything else that I could make better. I would put the differentials out of my truck in the other truck and try to sell it. I understand the doors are interchangeable as well as the fender and I know the differentials are too. I doubt the differentials are the same gear ratio since mine is a manual and the other is an auto. I know it would be a lot of work but my truck is my best friend and I want to make it good again. I have searched the threads to find out any info that I can but figured I would try staring a thread to see if any of you guys had some insight into what I would be getting myself into and if what I would like to do is possible?
