15" or 16"

Um, I tried searching this but I found 2 answers. Im trying to figure out if i can put 15" wheels on my 1997 4Runner or if I have to use 16" wheels. I know my dads Tundra has to have 16s. So, I tried searching and I found one thing that said 15s will work and one that said 16 was the smallest. So, if anyone knows for sure, please let me know. Thanks.

I have a set of Early Tacoma alloy wheels and they are 15x7.

It depends - a lot of 4Runners came with upgraded brakes that require 16" wheels to clear. If it doesn't have that brake package, you can run 15" wheels. I can't recall how you tell - but if your truck always had 16's, it probably has the bigger brakes.

Ditto, just measure your rotor if its like 12" i don't think you can, but if its more around 11" you don't have the brake package.

15in 4Runners = 11.7in Rotors

16in 4Runners = 12.5in Rotors
