'03 Sunroof problems ?

Last night while I was driving to work, my sunroof/moonroof did a strange thing. It was fully opened, but when I was ready to close it, it wouldn't close. It seemed as if the buttons just stopped working. After pounding on it a few times, I did get it to start working again, however, during my drive home from work, the auto open/close stopped working-I had to hold the controls down to utilize the slid/tilt functions. Anyway, out of the blue, it all works again.

Have any of you had problems like this with your rig?? I'm definitely goning to bring that to attention during my service.

thanks

I've encountered this problem:

The easiest way to fix this is to either Open the moonroof all the way (by holding the button down) or Tilting the roof (by holding the button). When the moonroof is set, it seems to reset and the auto close/open will work again.

Don't know why but I saw this problem awhile back but figured out that that was the only to get the auto button to work again.

Only happens every once in a while and it's not consistent so ehe no biggie :)

In the owners manual it states that you have to 'normalize' your sunroof and back window. Both windows have the anti-pinch protection. By 'normalizing' you are resetting the system to know where/when open/close is located. Don't know why it would stop working if it was working. The only time you normalize the system is after disconnecting the battery.

Thanks for the replies...Now that I think about it, once I opened the sunroof to full tilt, the auto function started working. The one thing that concerned me was that for a short while, pushing down on the buttons wouldn't do anything. It was stuck in an open position-that's something I'd be afraid of if I were out and about.

Hmm, hopefully this was only an isolated occurence.
Cheers! :D
