'02 Tacoma Wheel Size Question

Hi all,

New user here; just bought my first Tacoma. It's a manual '02 SR5 with the TRD package (3.4l v6). The truck needs new tires and I found a set on craigslist that just came off a brand new 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-Road (the guy sent it right into the shop for upgraded suspension and 34" tires). Dude wants 800 for both the factory wheels and the brand new factory tires (GY All Terrain Adventures w/ Kevlar), so it's a great deal for wheels + tires. The tires aren't my first choice, but they have less than 1000 miles on them and they'll be fine for what I need.

My question is whether or not the 16 inch alloy factory TRD offroad wheels from the 2017 tacoma will fit my '02? They are both 6 lugs, but I'm not sure if offsets or spacings are so different that they just won't work. They are both 265/70r16s. This way, I can keep the old wheels for winter tires next season and be able to simply switch out one set for the other when the weather turns.

Thanks for your input. I'll get pics up as soon as I can dress her up. She needs a little love (have plans for bed liner, topper, new wheels/tires, etc).

I attached (hopefully) a photo of the wheels in question if that helps at all.

In the absence of any responses here, I'd ask the seller if he would allow you to simply test fit one of his wheels on your truck. If so, you should have a definitive answer within a few minutes.

That's what I'm planning to do. I was hoping somebody had some experience with this. As far as I can tell, there is a 10mm difference in offset and I'm not sure on backspacing. Part of the issue was I didn't know the right terminology to google search - it was getting me nowhere. And then I ran across "fitment" and that pretty much got me most of the info I needed in terms of the wheel specs. Not much of a gearhead but that might change now that I've got a Tacoma.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Cool, hopefully I'll know for sure after this weekend. I'll be sure to take/post pics when I get them.
