Okay just bought a 94 Lexus SC400. Was driving it back from Denver and it blew a timing belt so I have to go up there and tow it back. Other then that the transmission seems to be starting to slip. Not a bad deal for $500.

Yeah I did, lots of projects, yeah I was really worried that it was interference cause that could very well ruined this whole project. I will have some pics up later. I first want to prep the body, cage it, bumpers and winches (one in front and back) Then I'm thinking of making it a manual but need to figure out how to trick the computer/ transmission to allowing it all to work.

Here are the pics of the 94 SC400. I just got for 500 bucks.

Should be starting to do the timing belt here in the next week provided we don't get any snow.

Why would I ever want a V10 Dodge in my Toyota? I bet it didn't cost you $500 either! The 2uz have weak rods and they cost more so I went with the 1uz. I have been out there for 4hours today ripping off the front half of the engine to do the timing belt. Found out why it broke. The bearing assembly in the very center blew apart, then some of the bearings work themselves to bind up, hence cutting the belt and burning it up, hence the fire. So I need to go find that part replace it then set the timing, then put on the belt. Then reassemble. Should be good fun and the weather has already started to get much cooler.

Alright a suspension question. I noticed on Trail gears site that they sell a 3 ink suspension kit. Would I be able to use that on the front instead of the rear? I want to use the 4 link on the rear, but I don't see anything for the front. If I can't, does anyone know where to get a linked front suspension kit? As for the Lexus got it running, but having overheating issues needs a water pump, and the fuel filter replaced. Getting close to getting started with this build.
Perhaps this- http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...t-p-16803.html

Okay looking for a little input. Should I go Leafs or Link? Trail gear either way just wondering go leafs front and rear or 3 link front and 4 link rear? Is there any difference between Marlin double case and inchworm?

My plans as of now, chop front clip off (eventually dovetail front and rear) Chop it into a double cab. I already have the transfer case and front axle and then drop the Lexus engine and trans in.

Just any input would be great. I pretty well have my plans set but I'm not to sure the difference between the leafs ride and the links.

Ok so I have been on vacation for awhile, and I am kinda fixing up the Lexus, cause I'm gonna drive it around for a little while finishing up my other 4Runner. When that is going this project will resume. I just have other things taking up my time and money but will return to this.

Well I had a little free time. No money. And temperatures that allow me a few hours before its really cold. So I removed the tail gate, glass, rear cab roof, carpet, and head liner.

So I stripped out the exhaust which was rusted through. And the gas tank removed. Cut the tail gate for a first trial fit. It will need more cut off the button. Re cut the roof back a little further, will need to clean that up but its pretty close.

I would like to keep it manual. But that involves a bell housing adapter and clutch kit which are expensive. But likely the route I will be going.
