I like the idea of using actual 4Runner springs for the ZUK mod instead of Jeep springs. Might have to steal that idea!

yes!! i love the fact that i have 4 runner springs. it just works out great. if you dont need the extra lift, u can always cut the spring down. oh steal away and post pictures

did some eye to eye measurements after work today

rear shocks removed
~23inch extended
~18inch compressed

current shock measurements
~21inch extended

shocks installed at ride height
left: ~20.5inch
right: ~20.0inch

as you can see my current shocks are limiting the full travel of my suspension by ~2inchs!!

wish bilsten would work for my setup
just need confirmation from whoever i decide to buy from
Front: N98. Open – 15.31inch (389mm); closed – 9.80inch (249mm)
Rear: N92. Open – 23.18inch (589mm); closed – 13.74inch (349mm)
was told N92 would be the softest i can go but dont know if they will fit

EDIT: N92 wont work. ended up using N94

its from a company called Buzzard Gulch but he also sells on ebay. i was able to pick one up off his ebay auction for $227 shipped. heard alot of good things about it. tanks a little small imo (1.5gal) but coming from using shop air and having a 33 gallon tank at home, u can see im used to having air all the time.

anyways i got to do some testing today up at 6000 feet alt. aired down my 32x11.5/15 to 10 PSI. start the timer right when i turned the empty compressor on. let it air up to 125psi and started to air up one tire. got it to 25psi and waited till it was up to bout 100psi and topped it off to 30psi. waited for 125psi and aired up second tire to 25psi and repeated till i got all my tires aired up.

so from 10psi to 30psi at all 4 tires the second i turned the empty compressor on. took just about 15min. im pretty happy with it. oh it helps to turn up your idle, compressor seem to run faster.
FYI: i made extensions that let me leave the compressor in the rear and just used a long air hose

what i heard made this compressor pretty good say compared to ARB's is the PUMA runs at 100% duty cycle

Good to hear! $227 isn't bad. I was debating on getting the ARB because they are $239 and a well-known name for quality, that being said, it only has a 50% duty cycle. Hmm choices choices...

damn... :( that wasnt on there when i was looking for 12v compressors. i have only found reviews of the 1.5 and that 2gallon must be new. you should do it. look like the same compressor and you get .5gallon more for not much more $$. for airing up, it doesnt really matter for me for the way i fill up but i just like to have a tank so the compressor is really only filling up the tank and not my tires. if anything i can always add tanks to mine

I'm thinking the 6248's gives you 26" extended length so you can lift another 2 inches or so in the future if you decide to do that....they compress to 16" so it would seem like your ride heigth of 20 means you have 4" of total compression to work with and that usually is enough....unless you smash into a deep rut way tooooo hard.

The 6253's are right on your extended length measurement....maybe a smidge short at 22.5 extended....but they will compress to a nice 14" so that gives you 6" of hard compression. Shocks don't usually mind being topped out every now then...but they get destroyed when they bottom out.

Those N92's you mentioned look like an even better candidate if they really do top at 23.18". They just need to have the normal round eyelets on both ends. Steel bushings that are often included with the shocks are used sometimes.... and sometimes not.

ZUK!!! THANK YOU so much for that link for the OME stuff. i found an application chart on ARB website. i really want matching shocks so im pretty set on OME right now. really appreciate the help. For sure im doing N98 Fronts.

it shows that N92 will work for the rears. im gonna hit up a local 4x4 store that is also an ARB distributor and really make sure. also get a quote. if it compares to online. ill just order them locally

Ordered N98 and N92. found out that N92 WONT work. so i ordered the N94 instead. oh well.

installed some N94s in the rear. didnt get a chance to install the N98 in the front before going up to the snow.

ran into 2 built runners. oh im still open diff and didnt have any problems. i love it

finally installed N98 front shocks. looks like i gotten the older model version :(
also my old shocks were shot lol, you can compress them and they wont expand back out. the ride is much better now, cant wait to try them out this weekend. order some wheel spaces because the upper arm is extremely close to it
