We finally got a Tires Direct store. New Duratracs for $640 plus I'm eligible for a $80 rebate. My son has sold the old tires for $150. There was a mix up on the Coopers they ordered for me and the manager gave me this deal. I discovered the '89's battery is dead today so have to sort that out.

The 4Runner is pretty dirty right now. I went to move it and the Optima battery was dead. Two days in a trickle charger and it's back. I looked at the Zuk mod done in Fall 2016. I cut $10 Jeep springs down to 12". I left the Chrysler tag on them. The cut end was painted. The only thing under my truck rusting is the 2012 Jeep spring. When I get back home it's going to get a spring cleaning.

Not much is happening with the old girl these days. No problems but the state inspection is dead and I need to get that done. My youngest son has a '98 Tacoma so he daily drives that. I just wanted to post a picture for posterity.

Hi Ray, yeah- I think I’ve had two more kids since I was really active here (brining is to a total of four) and that might have everything to do with it. Unlike you and Nervo here, I sold my 4Runner and while it was necessary to transition into better things for my family, I miss it. Now I have to live vicariously through you all as a former owner!

Not much happening. The 4Runner doesn't get driven much. I just noticed it's at 170k so we have only put 30k on it in 11 years of ownership! It received a brand new red top Optima about two weeks ago. It is currently cranking but not starting. I haven't had the motivation to explore further. It has never not started ever in its life. Maybe I'll investigate this weekend. SMH.

That's less that I put on my 3rd gen in a year! I'm on track to 400k next summer :0

Hopefully it's an easy fix for the no start!

I haven't addressed the no start issue. Let's hope it's just a fuse. I looked into antique plates and I'll probably get them since I qualify mileage wise. There's a restriction on how much it can be driven. I also developed a crack in the windshield over the winter so it would save me from state inspections.

I got some new seats. They are "seven way adjustable sport seats" from a 1st gen with no tears. I haven't installed them yet. Lab tested. I found 32 cents and a lottery ticket in them. I paid $100.

you can swap the seat bottoms, and use the passenger bottom on the driver side, which puts the bolster wear on the passenger side next to the console.

I knew that but I did not even think about it. Thanks. The typical place they tear on the driver's side has not torn but it's mighty thin. They still don't seem clean. I'm thinking about taking the upholstery off and machine washing it. I'm partly hesitant to put the new seats in as they don't match the rear seats. I like the factory look but my original driver's side is badly torn. Maybe I should look into an upholsterer.
