Killer B's 1992 4Runner 1UZFE, topless, rear 3 linked, SASfj80 Buildup
 

I posted this up in the engine swaps but it is more of a build up than just a swap.

I will post up The SAS+fj80 axle , the three link rear, the 1UZFE swap and dual cases with crosmember, top removal and door work and rollcage, 1989-91 factory spare tire carrier/taigate carrier add on. and rock sliders

Last but not least is a true fire flame paint job by me.

bad vze, I was able to reheadgasket it and get another 70000 miles out of it. while I had the heads @machine shop I pulled it and sized my 1UZFE lexus V8 into it.

Lucky for me I had a spare bare block that made it tons easier to trial fit a time or 10

Very cool. Haven't seen alot of 3 links. You said true fire flame job, do you airbrush bud? I love airbrushing, been doing it for about a year.

I can't airbrush hardly at all. I have somethng looking halfway decent and manage to make a mess everytime.

I know what you mean. Mine likes to not flow correctly at any random time. :/

dont over do it, alot of if not most people do too 'much' when they are doing paintwork- always feel like you can do a little more shading, depth or even color and it probly didnt look bad before you start over analyzing.

hell, its paint you can always start over. the more relaxed you are the better the outcome

My 3 link is kind of a poor mans 3 link. FJ80 lower arms for my lowers(beefy mofos, + they ARE under an 80 right?! and they are 50% longer- 11 inches longer)

A triangulated 1 piece upper arm with a rebuildable johnny joint attached to the center off the rear axle with gussets.

rear axle is out of a 98 4Runner (width) and I will be putting an FJ80 front under it as well. 63.5 inches wide.

yes I airbrush and do custom paint.... if you seen my 83 truck 12 inch narrowning thread.... body work too

SC400 exhaust manifolds fit nice with heat sheilds even, some dumbass cut off the flanges- these were only for mock up anyway.

the first pic of the engine was when I put the V6 back together and it was only it for fitting(V8) while V6 heads were getting resurfaced. this pic below it is in for good.

SC400 Exhaust manifolds, oil filter bung/boss (LS and SCs are very different) and SC400 airbox (an LS is way to bulky to fit in)

above pic you can see the coil packs (sorry blurry, cam phone pic) mounted to the fenderwell in factory holes(to the left of the air intake tube), a little tweaking to the coil pack bracket. and I put the 2 speed fuel pump resistor between the coil pack and the fuse/relay box... cant see it but its 3/4s size of a cig pack. I was able to put the 2 speed fuel pump relay into a blank location in the fuse box, it fit perfect just had to attach it.

Bolt in motor mounts for the 1UZFE to go into the V6 location
The factory rubber mount mounts to this and bolts in like Mr. Toyota did it himself.

I liked the TRD hood scoop so i bought an aftermarket hood (80 bucks) and cut the scoop out and put it into a 89-95 hood.

The fuel pump relay is the bright yellow/green (Lexus) one that you see in the fuse box.
Not all models have the same fuse/relay box or an empty location but this one did and it worked out fine.

The Circuit Opening Relay went inside the cab where the original Toyota C.O.R. went.

Underneath the red main battery (+) wire you can just make out the 2 speed fuel pume resistor, I had to upgrade the fuel pump main power wire to the pump. The original was about half the size of the Lexus wire.
The black plastic shiny 6"X 6" box behind all of that is the cruise control.... not quite mounted yet.

SC400 airbox, the LS400 airbox doesnt have a prayer to fit under the 4Runner hood, this fits sooo nice.

Off roadster
 

Here are the new doors for the convertible.... or should I say roadster (no top ever makes it a roadster not a convertible) these will require some work to "flow" with the body lines

Hence the name Off Roadster

Btw door weight with windows and electrics 55 lbs (passenger n driver doors) after removing glass and window motors the weight was cut in half down to 27 pounds per door add that to the back window glass, sunroof and 2 back side windows along with the weight of the entire metal top and thats some crazy weight savings.

the roll cage will bring some of that weight back though
