Got a good bit done today but were gonna finish up tomorrow morning. Here's some pictures
U-Bolt Comparison
Rear Shock
Back all finished up.
Went and picked up the tires! 33x12.50r25 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2's. Wallet hurts after that one but sometimes you gotta pay for quality products.
Getting the front end tore apart.
Supporting the front differential.

Well after two work days and nearly 10 hours working, we're finally done. We had to replace the upper ball joints and put two brackets on the motor so that took a good while. Now the only thing left to do is go get an alignment. Now for the long awaited pictures. (I'll post better pictures tomorrow for sure, but here's what I got for now)
Cutting the bracket that gets in the way of the front differential.
All finished up!

Well after driving the Yota around for a few weeks I'm simply thrilled. There is a few questions I have though. I've lost a goos bit of 'giddy up' (which I expected) and I was wondering what upgrades are best to counteract, as well as maybe improving the overall power performance.
I know re-gearing is one of the best mods (4.88s or 5.29s?), and whenever I get the chance ill be doing that along with engine swap (to another 22R), which will include .20 or .30 over bore and pistons as well as a weber carb, but from there I'm not sure. Is it worth it to upgrade everything else (cam, crank, etc.)
Im sure they would all add power, but I don't want it to be a waste of money and it to drop the reliability and strength of my motor.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Looking great! If you decide to rebuild your engine check out www.rockauto.com great prices. Check out Powernations offroad show formerly xtreme 4x4. They started a 2nd gen yota cheap build. He used the rebuild kit from rockauto. I looked them up, they start at like $160.

So took my truck down to hunting camp this weekend. it did great (as expected & usual). This time we were able to calculate the fuel mileage.... and its not good. 12.1 MPG. I'm hoping that it'll improve a good bit when I regear and build the motor, but until then it's the waiting game.

No real update. Changed a radiator hose and adjusted the valves and timing but other than that nothing. Can't wait to get a Weber Carb and 4.88s. Will post pictures soon.

Still haven't figured out the problem with my attachments, but im workin on it. Got 4.88s for the rear, just gotta get em for the front. Will also be getting a new front bumper after we paint it (blue flame metallic is the color we're gonna use). ill be getting an ARB bumper (modifying 01-04 liberty bumper.... gonna look sweet) as well as a weber carb. Then it'll be on to rock sliders (maybe) and ATX 185 series wheels and then so on.

I am going to be painting my 85 extra cab this summer and really like the way yours looks. Under the hood and on the firewall there is a tag. Would you mind getting the first three numbers stamped into that plate for me? That is the paint code. I might be using your truck for a guide as to how I want mine. Looks great.

Terry, I'm so sorry I've been unable to get that code for you. I've been incredibly busy with work but I'll be able to get the code for you on Thursday for sure.

Sorry I haven't been able to post anything. I've been working really odd hours at work, and getting ready for paint, so that takes up about 90% of my time (with sleep included of course).
