Today's Friday 4Runner Fifteen minute project brings a set of rear door storage pockets because you can never have enough places to stash a bag of zip ties.
plus I found them stuff on a shelf in the garage. I believe I pulled these out of a 1st gen 4runner. They have carpet on them where the stock 94 front door pockets don't have them

than I got to thinking, crap I hope they clear the seats
no problem even with seats folded flat

Thanks Habanero..i love quick little projects that actually go easy.

now if I could just get my stupid winch figured out.
solenoids looked corroded so I replaced all of them...still nothing. start looking at all of it...found two bolts about ready to fall out of the mount.
The front two bolts are a PITA to get to and are blocked due to a fairlead mounted light bracket I have, you can't get a socket to it. All 4 bolts were torqued down hard with red locktite and lock washers...thinking someone maybe tried to rip off the winch and some how got fubarred during their attempt...dunno

edit: if you have your axle pushed further forward you don't need to do the oil pan conversion.
however with the stock location of my steering box I am as far forward as I could go with out the steering rods binding

Well had lesson in not being an idiot and quit procrastinating. Starting seeing a few oil leaks a week or so ago..great..search and not really seeing anything except oil on the high steer crossover rod...oh oh.
yep the steering rod had impacted the oilpan causing a small crack...here comes the don't procrastinate part..
so when you convert a 3rd gen truck or 2nd gen 4runner with the 3.0 you are supposed to convert the front sump oil pan to a rear sump 2WD T100 3.4 oil pan. You should do this right away, not over a year later.
so I think no biggie, I have all the junk on the shelf and 2 hours later and 6 qts of 10-30 life will be good.
start pulling stuff Steering rod self clearancing oil pan
Full droop, great access
drop the oil pan..sucks you have to remove a couple of mounts and remove the flex plate to get to the 2 back 10mm bolts for the oil pan
Looks ok for 204K
2WD windage tray bolts inside the block where the 4WD front sump bolts between block and oil pan
Rear sump mounted..no issues
than all that is left is to add some RTV, the oil pan and add oil...or so I thought...
So it turns out i have the wrong frigging oil pan..I have a 2WD 3.0 oil pan
.not deep enough for the rear deep sump

So i find the part number, locally it will be the end of the week or longer and about $250 for the right pan...amazon two days and $185

At least the new wheel spacers look good to replace my 12 year old set

I hear that! I have a customers rig we are finishing up the 1uz swap on and he wants us to put the 3 link kit under it while we have it! I want to do it to mine too but the $$$ is why I haven't done it. Hopefully soon for both of us!

I got the Spacers through Low Range Off Road. They are a Trail-gear dealer. I could have got a set of 4 off Ebay for about 1/2 what I paid for these 2 but figure the last Trail Gear set lasted about 12 years and 2 trucks so I went with them again.

I actually got my visors for about $5 from the junk yard. I have seen similar sets on Ebay as low as $20 on up to $65+. You might give Ebay or Amazon a shot and they might have a deal for overseas shipping. Looks like you are in Switzerland, beautiful country to visit. Spent a couple of weeks there back in the 80's. Need to go back!

96-98 2WD T100 3.4L oil pan from Amazon
Amazon is awesome. Ordered on a Sunday afternoon before a holiday and still had the correct oilpan delivered Tuesday afternoon

Got the pan installed Independence day morning. Quick test drive showed no leaks.
than headed up for 4th of July fest

Did a quick and lame driveway flextest a little while ago. If I had a another piece of solid firewood could have got higher. Basically wanted to check tie rod clearance while flexed. Should not be an issue.
I have some shorter bump stops ordered. Used these taller progressive Energy Suspension bumps to help prevent the tie rod from hitting the oilpan..obviously that didn't work like I had hoped.

tons of clearance

thanks habanero...pretty sure i know what bump was causing the steering rod to hit. I have to cross a pretty good bump at some railroad tracks on my way home from work.
Glad i caught it before dumping all the oil out. this thing would have sat for a long time waiting for an engine if that had happened.
