So drove the truck about 65 miles today at speeds from 35-65, didn't notice anything out of whack.

Thanks!

I did notice today that I need to touch up a couple of spots on the holes in the wheels. Will do that when I coat the fender flares I have to put on.
also noticed that the brushes I used left some bristles stuck in the liner..crap but oh well

Cool! The body's the next step, sand color when the weather gets better.

Got a smoking deal on a Factor 55 winch thimble.
I love 5 minute mods that increase safety

from Viking Winchline
"The Safety Thimble is designed to prevent the thimble from getting pulled into the fairlead where most accidents happen in winching, often due to winch "run-on" from electric winches"
from Factor 55

Allows for closed system winching. Much easier to hook up a strap etc to the thimble using a steel or soft shackle than hooking stuff to a hook

Nice!

Who doesn't like 5 minute safety mods? They are the best kind!

hit the boneyard saturday morning to find some misc stuff.
My grandson likes to mess with the dash. He has pulled the HVAC control knobs off more times than i can count.
Started looking in different cars. found a 1991 Corolla, hmmm. those look similar but just a little bigger
4runner knobs on left, Corolla on right

Corolla knobs installed

They are much tighter so the little minion will really have to pull this time

Felt like a little kid playing with an erector set today. A bunch of 8020 strut, 88 button head bolts, 28 angle brackets and I have an addition to the rack I started a couple of months ago.
it needs a little touch up, it will get pulled in a few weeks when I paint the truck.
it ended up about 3" high. Not too bad heightwise.
it was a fun afternoon project

Missing climate control knobs takes me back. I can't remember when the kid finally stopped pulling them off (my 96's looks just like your 2nd gen) but it was many years.

Your roof rack looks not over- or under- done, excellent, sturdy.

It's funny about the knobs. I have always had Toyotas. I don't remember my girls pulling them off. Tatum is so curious about stuff, he gets wittle grin on his face. He tried to yank them off today and was like what the heck?!?.
I did grab a 2nd full set that is in a baggie just in case.

Thanks for the compliment. It won't see a ton of stuff but should be able to have a couple of gad cans, some traction mats and a small storage box.
I can rock the truck back and forth pretty easily with the rack

That was going to be a future mod for my old Runner, but I was going to use the Ford tank as a transfer tank to fill the stock tank. (If that makes sense.)
