BAD NEWS drained the oil today, found barring dust, dropped oil pan....plastic chunks from timing chain area Checked crank barrings they looked like they were pretty worn, and the oil....the oil was nasty who ever owned this yota before me....lets just say didnt no what the ˟˟˟˟ they were doing. Well time for the motor to come completely out of the car and get rebuild and new clutch! in the long run now i no what i got and im gonna have a stronger motor right ha.

Just looks like the timing chain plastic to me. i could tell right away when the tchain guide wasnt sticking out above the top of the blocl that it needed one.
check out engnbldr.com for the whole kit for like 80 bucks.

Looking good so far.. I am about to tear into the oil pan of my recently acquired 22rte and I am nervous.. The cylinder walls look great and still have the cross hatch pattern from a rebuild. Just worried about the bearings and such.

so still waiting on turbo rebuild, and havent gotten around to pulling out motor yet with all the christmas/new years stuff going on. i did get around to getting some sweet gauges and i framed some memorabilia. Ive been looking around on the forum/ebay/around the web lately and its been upsetting to see what some guys are doing to the factory turbo trucks. i hate see guys swap the 22ret out for a gm or even just a 22re. theses motors/truck combo are rare guys!! its sad in general to do a **aftermarket** swap in a toyota unless its the 3.4 or a 22re. i just hate seeing them die out, i understand the 22ret is more maintance but come on you have a turbo!! and their rare and come on its bad a**. i understand some of you wont agree with me but i really hope some one thing about swapping their 22ret for what ever reason will re-think that and do what it takes to get the truck back on the road.......theirs my evening rant lol well here are the pictures ha.

Took the motor to Portland Engine Rebuilders today, getting it rebuilt. Got ARP head Studs! basicly everything else going to be stock, OEM stuff im doing everything right with this build no short cuts! Im also putting a performance head gasket. The motor should be done in 2 weeks? And im still waiting on the turbo...... Well i Sand blasted and Painted abunch of stuff this weekend, including Valve cover, and abunch of brackets and pulleys. Still Need to paint the big intake tube coming from turbo going to EFI. O and i got new OEM fenders from a guy in Washington! Paid 50 bucks for both, and they where still in the boxes! Heres some pictures guys!

I moved the truck from my Dads shop to my house this weekend.
