Just checked the torque on the head bolts, wow I was surprised how loose they were. Good news though, they were all relatively similarly loose. I lashed the valves back to perfection again also.
I did notice on the freeway at full throttle going up a 6% grade that I heard pinging. I went to a higher octane fuel and the engine still pinged up the same hill. I have since enriched the Air Flow Meter and the pinging is gone using 87 octane. I suspected that the increase in displacement leaned out the motor.

Drive-able, but had developed a case a rod knock. I will have too pull it apart again. Since I do not want to cause more damage I bought a 2005 997 chassis Porsche Carrera 2 911.
I am going to get some work done around the house before I tare into the truck again.

Well there is still a lot to deal with in my garage before I can even get the truck in the garage. I am planning on pulling everything out of the garage and then paint the floor. I still have an entire IFS frame on the South side of the garage. I am planning to dissemble all of the front suspension and then move the frame so it sits on its side and leans against the North wall of the garage. Once I have all of that done, I will have a two car garage that is empty of all clutter and I could fit both the truck and the carrera inside.

I bought the frame for $100 some years ago. At the time I did not know what to make of the SAS on my truck and thought it would be a great option to have on hand if I ever decided that I did not like the SAS. For the most part I have not enjoyed the SAS with what little I have experienced of if. I still truly think there is an IFS future for me, but other things must happen first.
