Crazytoyota4x4's 1988 4Runner Build-Up Thread
Well I guess I start off with the blazeland kit I just put on the truck. Sorry no install but I feel that aalba's thread covered everything pretty well. The kit is absolutly burly, I was very satisfied with the quality of the kit. I will be posting some pictures tomorrow. Also I went with some Skyjacker 4" lift shocks for 86-95 4runners and pickups, they are only a temporary shock until I can get some shock hoops. I am still running the stock torsion bars for a week or so till I can order some swayaways. So far the front of the truck is super smooth, now the back feels like crap. Anyways like I said photos tomorrow, and dont laugh too much as I dont have any fender flares yet.

Awsome you got it on your truck so fast! Too bad you don't have your T-100 CV axels so you could thrash around in the snow on the streets in your neigborhood...... in 4WD! How much snow did you get?
If you can get the stock T-Bars dialed in to hold the ride height over the next week and feel confident with the ultra cranked pre-load it might be worth a second look? But with the SAW T-Bars you won't have to overload the pre-load and it will ride much better and reduce hard bottomming onto the compression bump stops...... which I don't see? You are bottoming out onto the shocks in this configutration. The shock isn't designed for this and one hard hit may cause damage to the shock. A seal will probably start to leak.

Heres what the back suspension looks like for now. It flexes pretty good, but it rides rough and bounces the truck forward on harder bumps.

I still have to put my stock bumpstocks back on too, especially before any hard wheeling.

Also I just replaced the idler arm and starter....again. I know it probably just needed brushes, but with the economy like it is I had beat on the starter for a while so I just replaced new. Ive gotten pretty good at changing out a starter in 15-20 mins. And in the pic of the starter you can see my super shiny motor mounts from Trail-Gear.

looks good crazytoyota4x4. are you gonna get some flared fenders? I see you still have not gotten axles yet. man it looks cold where you are. I have a friend that lives in Center, Co. Is that anywhere near you ?

Not quite sure where center is but ill google and see. Im on the western slope. Really wish I had my axles cause I would have romped a little bit, and never would have gotten stuck. Definitly want some fiberglass fenders, but I can only afford so much at a time. I am thinking of getting the new 84-88 ones from fiberwerx, they are a 4" Ivan style and look pretty nice.

Nice, Nate your kit is getting pretty popular already. I'm hoping to start working soon so I can put my name down for one!
Hey Crazy, definitely love the Ivan glass on the 84-88 trucks. I got a 90 and I'm tossed up between the Ivan or doing a 2001 Tacoma conversion.

Well i kinda hit a wall with money for the truck for now, but I was able to pick up a vafm from a 90 cressida ( part #22250-42080). So far i increased the fuel by 9 clicks and it seems to like it alot. Today it "chirped" into second gear from 5000 r's on the shift, never had that before, oh and on stock gears at that( 4.30 for the auto). Also when it revs to 5000 rpm it has this crazy ricer sound........loven it though. Ill take pics and mabye some vid for the sound.
