Nah not rtec specific, that other part number I gave above is the celica part number or something like that. It's function is to kill the AC compressor, sometimes listed as an auto-trans, AC, or tow package.

Anyways they are available aftermarket, ~105° NO 16x1.5/thread thermo switch. It is actually a japan spec taper but the 16/1.5 is supposed to work

That's a good question space-junk, I'm not quite sure? I'll ask my girl to look them up on her IG account. I don't do social media except for Yelp, because I really enjoy good food, LOL! Thanks for the heads up, I'll let you know what I find out.

Nice! Do you have a link handy to that aftermarket part? Just so I know it's the exact part you're talking about.

So... while fitting the OEM charge pipe to the Garrett GT25R kit from LCE I discovered how much the new turbo kit had kicked out the factory alignment of the charge pipe...

I don't know if I've ever mentioned it but I'm pretty sure I have a bad case of OCD. This misalignment was so aesthetically displeasing to me that I decided to do some metal augmentation...

By removing that coolant pipe, I'm able to eliminate 2 hose clamps in that section of the coolant circuit. I'm just going to have 1 clamp at the turbo's coolant outlet and 1 at the radiator inlet.

I'm heading over to TurboHoses.Com in Livermore, CA to pick up some silicone coupling hoses. I don't like the 4"L X 2"ID piece of hose supplied with the kit so I'll be replacing it (in the above photo) and fitting another one where the 2nd cut is. After I pick up the hoses I'm going to have the pipe sections cleaned and media blasted so I can refinish it.

I'm also going to have them make a replacement air intake hose assembly [17881, 17881A-1 & 17885 (Discontinued OEM P/N: 17880-35010, 17885-35010)] that leads from the air filter box to the turbo inlet.

Thanks 84 yota dude I'm looking forward to getting this portion of the build completed. I just gotta keep on keepin' on...

Yes'r, that's my Dusty! I hope he finds a good home and I hope his future owner(s) will take care of him like we have. He's definitely a looker. We'll miss him but we gotta to do what we gotta do.

What's up y'all! Here are updated pics of the engine re-build. I still need to rebuild (I have it out so I might as well rebuild it with new seals) and install the power steering pump, install the AC compressor and install all of the belts. I decided to go with a Derale oil cooler so I'm waiting for that to arrive so I can install the related components that bolt onto the block. After all of the above is done, I can bolt the engine back in.

I couldn't find a simple spark plug wire loom so I made a simple one.

I'm REALLY on the fence about the upper OEM heat-shield. The lower OEM heat-shield won't fit over the new setup but the upper one does. I just don't like how it looks on there. Do y'all think I really need it???

The LCE/Garrett turbo kit changed the angle geometry of the intake hoses so I'll have to wait until I bolt the engine back in before I can install those components so the fitment is correct. There is still plenty to do but theres definitely been progress... I spent weeks hand cleaning all of the re-used parts, whew!

Thanks y'all! I'm excited too.

I deleted my OEM oil cooler and I'm installing a Derale 15551 Oil Cooler Kit. I needed to close the coolant circuit so I did some research and found an exact fit pre-formed hose to loop the coolant circuit... Dayco A71621

I finished rebuilding and installing the power steering pump, I also installed the AC compressor and installed the drive belts. Furthermore, I figured it'd be easier for me to install the block related oil cooler components too, before bolting the engine back in. Next I gotta pretty up the engine wiring harness, take apart the dash to swap out the AC evaporator core and CLR flush the heater core (I'd rather buy a new one but the OEM one is discontinued). Then I gotta clean the engine bay so we can be on track to bolt her back in next weekend. *crossing my fingers & saying a little prayer*

I almost forgot to mention... I didn't like the straight banjo fittings that came with the new turbo so I purchased a couple of elbow banjo fittings (COHLINE Part # 8081 90 0800) to replace the inlet and outlet coolant fittings. I shaved down the elbow banjo fitting closest to the engine block to create a little more clearance between the coolant hose and the engine block. The straight inlet banjo fitting forced me to make a curve with a coolant hose which would have to rest on the U-shaped radiator pipe or the engine block; obviously not a good thing over time. A shorter length hose would end up forming a kink the coolant hose near the tip of the banjo fitting. So... I did some research and also found an L-shaped preformed hose (CarQuest D87001) that I trimmed down to make a more viable and cleaner connection.

Love your attention to detail!

Is that a new AC compressor?

Thanks, 84 yota dude! I try, I try.

Yes'r it is. We're moving to TX so I'd rather have peace of mind that all of my AC related components are new, for obvious reasons of course. LOL!

Haha I totally understand.
Where did you find the compressor?

I bought all of the AC components on RockAuto. I was surprised to find the Densor compressor, Denso condenser, Denso evaporator core, Denso expansion valve and Denso receiver drier/accumulator on their site! I wish they had the Denso heater core too but I'll definitely count my blessings.

Wow, that's awesome! Those are the only parts I'd want too.

Right?!!! I was really happy to see that RockAuto had those components.

I've been cleaning the engine bay these past few days. Man... the crudded up oil splatter really did a number in the engine bay. The previous owner said he unintentionally forgot to reinstall the oil filler cap after an oil change and went for a drive; it's a complete mess. I haven't even started cleaning the maze of engine bay wiring. The funny thing is... After I finish cleaning up the engine bay a bit, bolt the engine back in and drive to TX for our move, I'll be pulling the engine back out to do a frame off restoration once we're completely settled in the lone star state.
