Any fuses I should check?

When the alternator goes the battery light and brake light turn on by design. You can check fuses, but I doubt you'll find anything. I had the same thing happen to me when I was on a road trip, ended up swapping out alternators in a motel parking lot.

Many alternators are scrapped when all they need are new slip-ring brushes.

Many alternators are scrapped when all they needed was a new battery, or a cable end etc.
test test test. tell us some numbers, battery voltage, with and without engine running. If you battery is toast and won't take a charge your battery light may come on also.

You will want to test the circuit before firing the parts cannon at it.

You can guess and throw parts at it, get lucky and fix it but it would be like being taken to a place blindfolded; you never know how you got there or how to get home, OR you can methodically inspect, check, test, measure, share with us what you see, hear, feel, smell, and be certain what is wrong, and when you fix it you know that you are replacing / fixing the correct part and that by fixing/replacing it you are sure you've solved your problem....

Battery charging check:

1. Voltage 12.00V not running.
2. Voltage 11.84V when running. Varies 11.84 to 11.79
