4runner daily project. 1st gen

hey guys new to the forum, recently traded my 1983 suzuki gs1100ez for a 88 4runner 22re. i live in flagstaff az and it wasnt ideal to have a bike for the snow. the 4runner has a pretty strong motor with 243k made it from mesa az to flagstaff no issues. he said the engine was rebuilt but i call bs compression test showed 135psi accross. its gonna need about $200 in gaskets and seals to stop puking everywhere. engine doesnt leak at all but the trans, p/s, both diffs and tcase are covered. some of the front end needs redone but theres some new parts on there as well. biggest issue ive had so far was the ujoint was bad on the rear end replaced that before driving back up but the tcase bearing on the output side it very bad gonna have to replace that soon. have codes for tps, ect and maf(random misfire) but shouldnt have an issue replacing those just $$$. great truck its my 2nd 4runner but 1st 22re, did some $10 mods to the interior to make myself feel better from being powned in the trade but it'll come along soon enough.

a little bit about myself 24 going for my 3rd degree( have a a.s. in automotive, a.a. in general studies, and going for my b.s. in chem to become a pharmaceutical scientist.) currently live in flagstaff, recently engaged, moving into our new home this comming weekend. ive owned 10 cars in the last 8 years and 3 bikes. always was a gear head with a death wish. computer geek, workout fanatic, car obsessed and love electronics. fb-http://www.facebook.com/JoshMonteverde88, instagram-o_jam

new tires so theres no issue for the snow/ice. future mods will be powder coated, painted, or new rims. rhino lined trunk space, exterior paint 2 tone bedliner and od green, finish the dash n center console, fix rear window(wont go up of down but hot wired motor works), not really into lifting or puttin anything bigger than 31's on it(its my DD). front and rear bumpers, hid's(snow up here is a b**** with stock lights). over all color scheme is black and od green with punisher accients.

not really into making the body straight with some nice paint more of a motor head myself. any suggestions, feedback or advise would be great. wife got my old car that i modded but she wants to paint it purple. cant complain i got the car for free, threw a rebuilt head on it n drive it back n forth 1400miles to visit family 3-6 times a year.

small update. rear window wasnt going up or down with key or switch did a lil jumping to bypass shell switch and wired in a new switch n nada happened. deemed the relays faulty didnt want to sodder so i made a new harness with 2 relays i had lying around and works wonderful.
heater wasnt blowing cold at all but valve, blend door, and directional doors all worked. flushed the whole coolant system then spent 15mins alternating holes on the heater cores cause it kept blowing out s*** works wonderfully and just in time its supposed to snow tomorrow.
priced carpet at home depot itlls cost me around $70 to line my whol car freakin cheap!

havent had time lately to work on my truck due to moving and starting a 2nd job n finishing finals. but lately it wont start in the morning if the suns not directly hitting it or its too cold. but i found if i pour hot water on the intake manifold itll start right up. im thinking its the ect or Cold Start Time Switch. not sure which but advise would be greatly appreciated.

The not starting issue is most likely the cs time switch. Good looking runner by the way. And welcome to YT

I have a white runner as well and it is my favorite truck. Yours looks good. They are nice having the top off. On your rear window issue, it isnt as bad to work on as you might think, especially if you run a jumper wire to by pass all of the safety on it. It is on my 88 Runner link below and listed where to find the info for it. Post #185 and #186.

Make sure that you have voltage to the window switch in the center console.
