Been busy with a few things one thing for sure is the maintenance on the 2001 4runner (valve cover gasket, spark plugs, O2 sensor, oil change coolant change and some LED lighting). After the new year i plan to do more work on the 87 4runner. I got a used Alternator for a guy up north since I was up there for a few days. Haven't tested it out, but I'm sure it should work fine. Best part is I got it for a WHOLE $10. If it doesn't pan out I gues I'll just look into rebuilding one.

HOPE everyone one had a great Christmas and a safe one.

Okay... Hopefully everyone had a good start for 2019, I sure did... Just keeping up with the Jones....

Anyhow been doing a little bit of work on the 87 4runner, Started the removing the bolts at the tranny to motor getting it prepared for removal to replace with the rebuilt engine I have ready for it.
This rebuilt engine has a few newer items such as updated injectors 4 holes (hopefully they work as well as they stated) and a after market beck arnely TPS. Didn't think that photos were necessary
for the removing of the bolts so didn't take any. Once I get the motor in and running I'll head back to the body restoration.

Sorry I haven't posted much recently, I had to put work on the truck on hold, it seems life took over. Been busy with more and more stuff outside of the 4runner. Really hoping to do something this year on top of all the things I have going on.

Works been a killer for me, kind of always upset at those companies that don't have an answer for their own products and might i add products that cost bunch.

Any who... i want to do more body work over the next few month before the years up. The motor is sitting in the Garage waiting to be installed. Rust to say the least is a given in these trucks. i am going to look for something that I can weld better with rather than trying to perfect that HF flux welder, it takes a lot of patients to not pop holes in the metal and also clean up after welding. i'm thinking any cheap mig welder just to work on those patches. i don't want to spend a fortune on this cause its just for me.

I think if i work in a schedule to do a drop a day in 10yrs i could have completely restore the 4runner to it almost original state or close there too.

Still i have to schedule myself in order to even get back in gear, i've got loads of engine/tranny stuff i've collected over the years so i should be pretty set on most of the engine stuff. Still insurance on the truck even in suspended mode is still costing me a few hundred every 6 months, so yeah i want to be driving it around.

Junk - good to see you still at it or at least still thinking about it. Like you, I have not done much to my truck in the past year or so. We just did some major home reno stuff, floors, kitchen, baseboards, trim, etc. A lot of it we hired out, but the parts we didn't I had to find the time to tackle. Just about done with my parts and I told my wife I wanted to take a break from house stuff for a while so I could focus some time and money on my truck. We'll see if that happens.

Yeah been a while, but i think I'm getting the itch again. And I've been on some rough dirt roads here way down in South Dade where I head over to work with the 3rd gen and yeah it a little comfortable, but it doesn't feel like a truck. I'm buying some landscaping material for the a hedge stupid neighbors keep driving up on my lawn tearing it up. they are just renters as the owner elected to get renters because of the high cost of the mortgages down here.

Any how I have been scheduling it. The Topper for the other truck is also in need of a coat of paint so I may get started on that since it would probably be the easiest. Plus i popped the slider windows out already so it perfectly ready for a coat.

I'll get my son to help out since he may have time.

looking forward to this

Just thought I'd give everyone here a heads up how inflated the prices will probably go if this sells.

I lol’d at the price, but after viewing all the photos, the only detraction i can identify is the b-pillar badges appear to be repros.
This is the cleanest first gen i have ever seen.
