Looks like a nice solid truck, the new tires and wheels are really going to set it off! Sounds like you have a good plan for it, can't wait to see some more pics!

Great Score!

Test fit the 35s
They clear the rear fine but the front is turned as far as it can go... i ordered a drop hanger to move the axle forward as well as shackles for both front and rear Attachment 110116 Attachment 110117 Attachment 110118 |
just out of curiosity did you KM2's measure small? Mine are just a hair over 34
|
looks great! If you are moving the axel forward are you going to do cross over steering too, or just work with the stock push/pull steering?

immediate plan is to move the axle forward 1.5" and use the stock push pull and just shorten the drag link to match and go crossover steering as soon as I find a IFS steering box |

My favorite part of this build so far is getting all the new parts.
Lockers showed up Attachment 110109 |
Looks like you get some snow your way. Surprised at how much rust isn't on it. Nice progress. How are you lifting it?

Not sure how I am going to lift it for now but in the long run I would like to go all pro springs or possible 3link front 4link rear

Since you can weld a lot of folks will recommend 63s in the rear. I've seen video of people using them and they flex so crazy. The rears up front flex good too. I have read that the trail gear front spring hanger will lift your front because of its design. I like following threads where dudes do their own fabrication, it's interesting
I am am going to do my own welding but will save time and use pre made brackets/tabs since I don't have a torch or drill press. the TG drop hanger does a some height but not much,it drops 1" but in reality only lifts the truck .5". But helps with steering box clearance with the ifs steering box. i have 2 sets of rears I want to use to make a front pack but just need time to get to the junk yard for some chevy springs if I go that route then I would use ruff stuff hangers to help keep it low. but mostly want to do all I can to prevent having to cut up the clean sheet metal. |
Long time since an update but I received my TG 4.7 tcase gears and got the truck moved to better suited work area at a friends house..
but out on top of that the truck isn't running right so it will need some more tuning pics to follow |
Truck looks to be in great condition. No rust to speak of. Great find.
