I wanted to do something different with the paint, so I decided to use bedliner and paint the lower half and fender flares. I have been doing most of the paint at night after everyone goes to bed, and I really cant wait to see it in the light. I think it is looking pretty good for a night time garage job. Next step is compound and polish.

Got front bumper and winch mounted. Need to put all the trip pieces back on. I also ordered a stripe kit from http://www.jamesdeancreations.com/1987-88.htm
I liked the 87-88 SR5 graphics the best, so I went rouge and ordered those.

Just cranked it for the first time. Runs rough and will not idle. He is what I did:
-Installed header. Deleted oxygen sensor and cat
-Desmog and removed all old vacuum hose
-Installed Weber with swirl adapter
-Connected vacuum advance to Weber
-idle advance still off(could be issue)
Once I get a good idle I will confirm timing.
Any ideas where to start the tune? Need another set of hands to adjust Weber idle screw. Working alone is a PITA is some situations.

Re did vacuum lines and started carb at base settings. Finished exhaust, and now it seems to work great. Throttle response is better over stock. Gonna test it out on highway next couple of days.

Is it Christmas already? Made a fantastic Craigslist score. Roof rack with 6 lights, shovel, jack, fire extinguisher, 2 tow ropes, gas tank with mounting tray, and bumper with 2 lights all for $250! He even included his factory luggage rack bars off his vehicle with all hardware and securing straps.

Got it all mounted up. Had to do a bit of fabrication to allow it to get in and out of the garage. Narrowed the basket by 6.5 inches and mounted to some square aluminum tubing. I also used some eyelets to mount rack to the roof. Under the eyelets inside the truck I ran some thick metal bars to reinforce everything and allow me to use my garage hoist to quickly remove back of truck. It should be able to hang from garage without causing any stress in the Fiberglas.
Drove to work today. No doors and 37 outside is a bit chilly! Lol.
