mgb2's 1981 Pickup Build-Up Thread

The project begins....
Long time Toyota owner, but my first in-depth build so be gentle. Any ideas and/or suggestions? (sorry for the cell phone pics) |
I wish that was in my yard!!
As far as suggestions.. I would take my time and systematically go through every nook and cranny of that thing. My next build will be one like that and I plan to tackle it in sections, motor, front end, suspension, etc. Yotatech is the best place to get advice about how to proceed. Remember to post pictures!! :guitar: |
Tell us what your plans for the truck are so that we can help you spend your money:D
-are you looking for a weekend trail runner/Dailydriver, deep mud, full blown rockcrawler, restoration? I think you can fix your grill easily...looks like somebody broke it trying to get to the hood latch... |

Got my tires and wheels today (already had the wheels for awhile).....35" BFG KM2's with 15x10 wheels.

Installed wheels & tires

It's not running again...but it looks good just sitting there!!! Suprisingly no rubbing at all; and you never realize how small the original size tires are until compared to the new ones.

Simply restoration and trail riding. Honestly just fixing it up for my dad. I told him i was taking the truck to just get it running again; but i wanna take it back to him running and looking good again and also wanna lift it with bigger wheels/tires. Kind of a suprise and a thank you to him.

personally id loose the topper. looks like a grandpa drives it... just sayin
|
but its a good lookin truck from what youve done with it
|
Love the truck...what I wanna know is wtf started the fire? I need to know how that went down...Jesus Christ!!
Someone would be losing a finger or something. Id do a flatbed. Its just what you do when the first gen bed fall apart...plus they look sweet. All you would have to do is read toyospearo's flatbed thread...and you'd be hooked. |
