Maistroyoda's 83 4x4 restoration project ***WARNING LOTS OF PICS***
This is my 83 4x4 shortbed SR5 pick up that I bought about 3 years ago. I bought it from an older lady who was the original owner. It only has 107 K original miles. It came with the orignal chrome rims(but not in good shape), original owners manual, original window sticker, and even the business card of the salesman in 1982! The interior was in decent shape since the owner kept seat covers on the original seats for many years, it was just kinda dirty and needed some color since many things had faded. I ditched the camper shell (which I still have), the hideous side steps, and the chrome wheels (for now until I can restore them too). The interior is now almost like new and only needs a new leather shift boot. I repainted the truck to the original color which was gray metallic and installed original style decal sticker stripes. The engine was left alone for the most part since it only has 107K miles. The only upgrade to the engine has been the installation of a Weber 32/36 which I did about a month ago. The truck sits on 31" BFG ATs and the original suspension with no lift. Also I had a spray-in linder put in. Future plans include cleaning and coating of the underside and restoration of the original chrome wheels. A couple of months ago I was ready to sell it before the restoration due to financial difficulties, but things improved and I decided to keep it. Ok enough talking let's see some Toyota 4x4 PORN!!

Who did the SR5 paint job? Or did you tell us and I missed it? Very nice. Yeah hold onto that shell. It might be different in Texas, but I could not find a topper short enough for my shortbed. I finally bought an aluminum one and just cut a couple inches off of it to make it fit.

The paint job was done by a local guy. The decals are stickers that I ordered online and I installed them myself on ThanksGiving day. I was thinking of getting rid of the camper shell. We'll see if somebody wants it
