This is a 1967 Toyota Stout.This truck has a 3R engine,manual trans/shifter on the column,clutch on the floor.It is a 2wd and is in very good shape.This is a barn find, and is the project of my girlfriends son Jacob.It is currently in my backyard and I will probably do a fair amount of work on this thing,so im starting this build thread.The plan for this truck is kind of up in the air.As of now we have pulled the spark plugs and poured some oil down the cylinders.The engine is stuck Wilber!The trans is super cool.I would like to find another toyota engine,maybe with fuel injection,even.And try to mate it to the stock transmission.Then I want to paint it and cruise.The kid however,wants to fashon a front strait axle mount,put a small block in it,dual cases..........and so on.if anyone has any info on engines that can easily swapped for the 3R,please drop me a line.

The interior is in super good shape and all there.There is a little rust in the floors,but I think it can be saved.

That thing is way to clean to cut up. Plus.. theres nothing cooler than driving a 3 on the tree.

Seriously man, That thing is in super good shape.
Get the kid a beat up 1st gen or somethin.

It might take awhile to find a 3R but will be well worth it if you do.

Well Jacob came over yesterday and we removed the engine and trans.This is the crossroads.I am going to put the engine in my engine room and tear it apart.Im going to try to free up the pistons,or just cut them in half and punch em out.I hope after that I can bore it and just throw in some new pistons.He is going to start looking for some kind of a swap engine.Its a race.

Thing is man,I want to keep the manual colum shift tranny.On this Truck the bellhousing is part of the engine.I think Im going to have to kwep the engine to use the transmission.

try looking for a adapter bellhousing to mate the 22r to that engine, or even a 20r

It would need to be a bell to mate the 22r to this gearbox.I doubt anybody makes one.Hey 86 yota4x4, do you have a spare 20/22r bell laying around?

Hey Brian, I'm glad you started a build thread on the Stout, that thing is awesome! If you need a bellhousing, I got one for a W56 and a G52...let me know if your interested. Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out! Ed.
