New parts!

Great progress so far! I like all the information you included about the shackle locations. That should come in handy sooner or later I start on my suspension work.

Thanks. Took me several tries to get the hangers right.

Put my fenders on. Took a lot of pictures showing how they lined up. They lined up fairly well except for the bolt hole that is behind the headlight. It stood off like a 1/4" on both fenders to much but I worked it and got them on. On the passenger one in the front corner above the headlight it was pushed in a little. I think that happened in shipping or when I unpacked them. But it pulled out/bent back easily cant even tell. Also I broke all the bottom bolts on both sides taking off my old ones. Can you reccomend a good extractor kit? I ran a small tech screw in it right now to hold them in place.

My jeep friend is wanting to wheelin Sunday so I decided I better put my diff breather extensions on as well as my cb radio antenna. I got one breather on but Im gonna go buy some more tube and another filter tomorrow for the front. Here is the back.

New breather plug from Nissan:

With the tube on:

Close up of the plug:

Ran the tube into the tail light housing and put a fuel filter on it just in case any water manages to get in the tube. The filter will absorb any water.

Hey, ...well, they just seem to be on mine(and THOUSANDS of other blokes who've posted up on em....) The RS9000 Ajdustables? WAY different story, lol. But they're NOT cheap, ya know? The 5000's are a GOOD shock, don't get me wrong... I just found them a lil stiff. Have you looked at skyjackers or procomps if you wanna keep the price down a lil more? I LOVE my OME's.... but they're not cheap either. Not in the FOX range or anything, but not super cheap. 98$ or so a piece, I believe? (that's on mine for the fronts... NO idea on an older girl in the rear... dual hoops, etc. THINK they're cheaper than the fronts.... can't remember.

I had some edelbrocks on the front and MAN, I gotta say... they were REALLY soft and effective... Lil softer than the OME's... but then, they're brand new... I'll let em break in a lil, right? :/ Hhahaa.

Looking great, man!

BTW, isn't it nice that they mark "RH and LH"??? FHEW, I mean, you could have put the fender on the WRONG SIDE! hehe... JK, I know it's for them more than us.. but funny still when I saw it. Really coming together, buddy!

Not hard at all. These were the first one I ever did. For each fender there is 5 bolts on the top in the engine bay, 1 behind the headlight, 1 above the top hinge of the doors, and two on the bottom were the cab/fender meet. Also the two philips screws on the front valance.

Been really bored today waiting on Sears to come fix our dishwasher. I went and got some tube to extend the front breather. Found a small leak where the front drive shaft connects to the axle. Guess I need to get a new seal. Anyone know if it happens to be the same as the output shaft seals as the transfer case? I have an extra one of those I can use if it works.

Front diff breather:

Put my gas tank guard back on too. Dont need any hole getting punctured in my gas tank.

Hey man,...

Not sure on the 'same number' thing for the pinion seal... My rear went out and I ordered both at the same time.... Not sure, but on your 83, is it 8" front and rear thirds? (doesn't mean the seals would be the same, ... just curious)...... Since the dealership probably has them listed as different part numbers.... I would call Napa or someone and ask them, .... "same part number for both Pinion seals??????" ... worth a shot, right?

What does a set of rims and tires like that usually go for? I think I'd like some of them a little more than the chromed stock ones on my truck.
