I leaned out the carburetor about a half or full turn more cant remember but I believe i'm about 3 or 3/5 turns out now.

As you saw in the previous video, the truck is idling right at 1k rpms and I can't seem to get it any lower. To top it off, the cold starts are pretty rough with it idling really low and a lot of black smoke coming out the tailpipe.

I tried to adjust my fast idle screw but didn't see much of a difference on the idle when cold and I don't believe that is my issue because the idle will raise if i help it a bit with the throttle. If I don't help it with the throttle it will just run pretty rough for a while and eventually the idle will raise and then it will warm up normally and the idle will even drop on its own once it has warmed up.

I am going to keep researching a few threads I found online and see what can be causing this to happen. Here is a video of a cold start from this morning, it was about 35 which is pretty cold for us socal peeps haha The quality isn't the best so i apologize for that

It's the little details that count, right?

These 22r Decals go for 8 dollars on ebay and other sites but for those that don't know the dealer still carries them and they only cost $2 dollars!!

I finally replaced my shift lever boot and it made such a difference as far as look. I also found an original shift knob which the seller claimed it wasnt cracked but obviously that wasn't true.

Here is what my shift knob, lever and boot looked like before.

Changed out the busing and seat inside the transmission and put new boots on both levers.

Here is what it looked like after (please ignore the ugly seats lol)

My current project is a full knuckle rebuild and I have purchased Low Range Ultimate kit (link below)
http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/toyot...-ultimate.html

I've been watching tons of videos including the ones made by low range and read most of the threads found on this forum or others.

Yesterday I got as far as removing the hub because it started to rain on me:

The one question I do have is if my birfield ( I think that's what you call it) should have a lot of play?
Here is a video of what I am referring to:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/uNdEBvEb6h5pLiq97

If this is not normal then what would cause this issue. I am assuming it is related to the wheel bearing but I don't want to guess. I just want to make sure that if this is not normal then whatever comes in the knuckle rebuild kit I bought will fix this issue. I don't want to wait till the end and rebuild the whole knuckle and come to find out I should of replaced the birfield or something like that.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I finally got one of the knuckles completely disassembled and I see there is a lot of wear on the knuckle and I am not sure if it is related to the video I posted in the previous post. Would anyone happen to know what could be causing this and am I okay to continue putting it back together?

Below is a picture of the wearing I am referring to.

I am not sure.

I would try posting to another form like marlin crawler. There tends to me more wheelers there that would probably know.
Do you have a factory service manual?

I have always experienced a bad vibration through the entire cab of the truck and I finally went through with getting my driveshaft rebuilt and what a difference it made. I can finally enjoy driving my truck without having to hear and feel that horrible vibration.

Here are some before and after pics

Your angles need to match too. Your pinion side driveshaft angle is almost straight, They need to have the same angle on both sides to counteract each other. You can make it even better

Thanks for the great information and just curious on what you mean by "it can be better" lol at the moment i feel basically no vibration anymore so what would a CV or correcting the angle improve?
