1983 SR5 4x4 dual case build
Well I originally had an 82 and had to sell it to pay for my My last year of college. I have greatly missed it ever since. As soon as I graduated I tried to track it down and found out the guy that bought it from me stripped all the straight body parts off mine to build back his totaled truck on his built chassis . So I have been hunting locally for the last year and a half for the perfect replacement to my 82.
I Finally found this 83 and have a binder full of all receipts from the build. There was a bit more work done than I wanted but the price was right and the body and frame are straight and rust free. It has Original seats carpet headliner paint door panels. But has a pioneer touch screen radio with gps retrofitted into the old dash, I think this will be nice for mountain adventures once I load it with custom maps. The interior is in very good original condition as well.
So far I have picked up an IFS sterling box for a crossover steering setup.
I also picked up some seats from a 2011 Impreza. Manual seats with heat option. They will bolt in perfectly I just have to make spacers for the outer rear mount. they sit a little lower than the stock. I shampooed them with the rug doctor and they cleaned up really well. I plan to hold on to the original seats.
I will be ordering replacement vinyl floor covering in grey. I’m just not a fan of carpet in pickups.
thinking about ordering some rock sliders from marlin crawler too.
I have a few wiring gremlins to fix at the battery.
need to order a battery hold down kit, currently has a ratchet strap holding the battery in.
It has
rebuilt engine and L52
front and rear lockers, 5.29 gears
new Luk clutch
Marlin HD front case, advance adapter heavy duty dual bearing crawler kit.
gps
led rock lights

so I think I may have been wrong looks like everything is marlin crawler? I’m still confused though because on the other side of the adapter AA is cast into it? So is it marlin crawler or did marlin crawler rebuild the AA adapter ?
