2011 4runner Keyless system question
 

How exactly does the keyless ignition work? I just want to know for comparison purposes to the aftermarket system I just installed.

What I need to know exactly:

How the LED changes according to different modes/situations (key fob in range/out of range, ACC, ON, engine running, brake pedal pushed before engine is started, etc.)

How long of a push does it take to start?

How long of a push does it take to stop the engine?

Do you have to push the brake pedal in to start/stop the engine?

I dont know if the LED changes... But on my 2011 TE with factory remote start, I hit my lock button two times, and then a 3rd time and hold it down for 3 seconds or so. When looking at the 4runner you'll see the lights blink 3x and then after 3 seconds they start flashing like your flashers to let you know the cars starting up. When you approach the car and hit the unlock button... the car turns itself off and then you start it like normal.

i hate that the truck turns itself off then you just have to restart it.. most cars have a better system than that.. but whatever i deal with it
