this is my moms 72 camaro very cool car. its been sitting waiting to be worked on for a while now. i am doing as a gift for her hopefully buy mothers day she could atleast drive it around the block or roast the old tires off LOL.

i picked it up and had to replace the front sub frame because it was twisted from jumping the RR tracks. the wiring is completly gone in it so i am installing a new wiring harness. all the front steering components i have replaced same time i did sub frame.
motor and trans will be going in as soon as i get a clutch kit for it. motor is a sbc 350 and trans is a 4 speed munsi.

i have done some more to it but nothing to take pictures of i started on some of the body work and the roof had about half and inch of bondo right in the middle so we are trying to find a place to buy a roof panel from. any ideas?

Nice car! I've had two 81' camaro's in the past, but always preferred the earlier 70's styling better. Does yours have the split bumper in the front? I was watching Car Fix on Velocity channel and they're building a 71' and doing lot of body mods on it. Not sure on the roof panel, I know you can get replacement fenders and quarter panels, you might have to try to find a wrecked donor car for the roof panel. Nice work so far, look forward to seeing some more!

You just don't see many of these on the road anymore. I always enjoy seeing the older ones running. Miss the old cars. I think it is great that you are building it for your mom. One thing I have suggested about the build threads is it is a great way to keep track of where you are and what you started with.

You will get it done one day and enjoy going back thru your build and seeing the joys and frustrations that happened at the time. When it is done, it is sometimes hard to recall what it did start out as.

No suggestions for a top, I haven't seen one in a yard in years. Looks like a solid body and it is all there. I got a kick out of the RR tracks. I have done that a time or two myself. I since wisened up. lol
