Ski bike

So I am surfing the 29er section over at mtbr.com just now and ran across a mountain bike made in Colorado by a company called Lenz.
They have some sweet bikes, but what caught my eye is a ski bike they have that has a full suspension on it, and you take it up the chair lift with you.
Never seen one of these before, pretty cool.

It is fun, but I prefer the board over that.

thats not a complete custom built bike its a kit consisting of those two board like things, some attachment points and footpegs that go in the bottom bracket of ANY bike.. frame/forks and bars are basically all you need..

that first bike with the green paint and LENZ logo is a slightly modified INTENSE m1

and the second bike on the chairlift part was either an older INTENSE uzzi or a Karpiel 'Disco volante'

i just showed this to my dad and he is interested in a set.. cause we have 4 old DH bikes in the team trailer

I could get into that - I can't snow ski worth a crap but that's something I could probably do.

I bet they're $$$$ though.

they seem to be childrens skis with some aluminum or stainless bracketry..

...to the tune of 5 hundred bucks..

come on guys.. we can build custom gnarly toyotas that go through anything.. im sure we could fab up some kind of a proto for waaaaay cheaper..

the only true dimensions youd need for a typical dh bike is 20mm x 110mm sleeve in the front bracket and a 12mm x 135mm sleeve in the back one..

id leave regular mtb cranks and pedals on.. id feel weird riding a bike with my feet soo close together and immovable

Those look fun, never done it gonna have to give it a try. It doesnt like that difficult, stopping is the only part that would be hard. But if you know how to ski it seems to be the same principle in stopping or "carving" to a stop.
