97 3.4L V6 4Runner w/rear e-locker, 4:56 gearing, 6k OBO
SOLD
I picked up and 05 double cab Tundra last week, so my 97 4Runner is for sale
I want to get 6k OBO. It's in good shape with 168k miles on it. Auto 3.4L Color is Anthracite
Pictures to follow in another day.
I returned it back to stock a few months ago. What remains is a stock 4Runner on 31's with a swapped in electric locking rear axle. The rear axle is from a 4 cyl so the gearing is 4:56. The front diff was swapped at the same time to match. diff locker skid from inch worm included
What's new:
Brand new Toyota Cat back exhaust
Gabriel Front coilover shocks
Front rotors
passenger cv Shaft (driver side is 2 years old)
Fan clutch
Extras:
JVC CD player with MP3 inputs
In dash Cobra CB w/ wire running to the back.
Front foot well courtesy lighting
The good:
tires are in good shape roughly 60-70% tread left
E-locker is wired with relays so it can be activated whenever. (It is a two button system to avoid accidentally activating it .) Used a stock toyota diff lock button to give it that factory look, and the factory diff lock light in the instrument cluster activates when the locker is engaged.
The not so good:
One of the rear heater lines sprung a leak a year ago, so I just bypassed it and never replaced them.
I have the rear antisway bar but never put it on because one of the end links needs to be replaced- recently bought the new endlink and will try to get it put back together.
Front diff VERY SLOWLY drips gear oil from the flange where the two halves bolt together.- simple to fix after you install an ARB air locker
Here are some pictures taken last night. I'll have some day time shots tonight.
Also available are the running boards and factory roof rack rails.

Thanks,
When I switched to the 4:56's it was a huge improvement on the highway with the 33" tires and 4Lo was a slower crawl.
Now with the 31's it's pretty quick.

I didn't really notice any change in MPG (Did the swap when I had the lift, larger tires, and heavier bumpers on.)
Now with the stock tires on I'm averaging 16-17 mpg on winter gas. The higher RPM's on the highway might be hurting it.

Last week before posting to craigslist & Bargain news
I really want this to go to a good home- someone who will appreciate the locker and gearing.
As an incentive the price is being lowered and for that price I'm including items that I will otherwise be removing and selling indvidually once this gets posted to craiglist and Bargain news by next weekend.
New price: $5500 OBO
Items now included:
ARB air compressor mounted under the hood
Complete set of husky liners
Aftermarket JVC stereo including amp and 12" rockford Phosgate 12" sub in a sealed enclosure
BTW, Rear antisway bar end link has been replaced and is now mounted.

All the cool ones have to be on the wrong coast!!! If this was anywhere close to the West Coast or even the Mid-West I'd be looking it over and probably buying it.
Anthracite is the best color for these rigs that Toyota ever sprayed. I am a total gear head and would give your truck a great home. Would have to get rid of my 1992 but I think it would understand.
If you were only a thousand or so miles closer.
Well bump for a nice rig and a great deal.
