Wheel width on Rim... What tires will fit properly

2 Attachment(s)
I picked up the 2000 4runner aluminum wheels for my 86 toyota. Now I am begining to wonder if my current tires will fit the wider rim.

2000 tacoma rim width is approx 8.5 (outsides)
1986 steel chrome wheel is 6.5?? can't tell exactly

Will a set of 235/75/R15 tires fit this wider rim. Of course both rims are 15". Or will this just lead to leaks on the rim?

Anyone have some experience with this?

I don't know if they'll leak, but you will jeopardize your rip when parking against the curb or going off road. I've seen lots of tricked out Hondas where the section width is not as wide as the rim- and those are low-profile tires too.

2000 4runner wheels should be 16'' and a 235 will work fine since its about 9'' wide but you will need 16'' tires

I believe that it is off a 4runner

It is definately a 15" rim. It is the exact picture above. Might be from a slightly older 4runner 97 98 or 99?

They must be Tacoma wheels if they're 15's. I also believe they're only 7" wide, but I could be wrong. I think you'd be fine.
