Wheel size for offset...backspacing??
Feel free in thinking I'm stupid for asking this question...but what's backspacing and what's it's purpose....haha besides that my main question is:
I'm running bald 265/70/17 on my 91 toyota and I'm upgrading wheels and tires before winter hits. I'm really after a good stanced look with wheels that will stick my tires out from the body a couple inches, like 2 or 3 roughly...what size wheels should I get? I don't know much about wheels at all and their dimensions. I'm thinking I'm going to get 32/11.5 Cooper STT tires since thats bout as large and wide i can get without lift (unless i get a 2 inch body lift before winter then ill get 33/12.5/15) and I want 15 inch wheels. How wide of wheels should I get? And how much backspacing should I have if that has an impact on anything haha |

In other words, the more your tires will stick out, the more you'll have to trim off of your fenders or the more you will have to lift it to prevent rubbing. Take a look through my build thread (link in my signature). My truck has 32x11.5" tires on a 15x10" rim with 4" backspacing. It is lifted 1.5" and it still rubs a bit at full lock. |
15x8 with 4.5" to 3" back spacing sounds like it'll fit your needs.
