Trade-in new tires from 06 4Runner for Revos?

I'm going to be picking up my '06 4Runner this weekend and do not want the Dunlops that come with them. Does anyone know if tire places would take my new tires as a trade-in if I purchase some Revos from them? Also, anyone have any recommends for any stores in the SoCal area? Thanks.

the 4th gen runners come with either Bridgestone Dueler H/T's, Michelin Cross Terrains, and the Dunlop GrandTreks. Not really sure why Toyota still puts the Dunlops on, since there have been so many complaints with them. They still put them on the Lexus line as well.

If you're changing tires because you don't like the Dunlops, have the dealership swap tires with the Michelin's. Same size tire, they should be able to do it, especially since you haven't taken delivery yet.

Now if you're changing because you really want to get the Revo's, no point in getting the Michelins, unless you want to stock the Michelins for later use. But after probably about 6 years, it wouldn't be worth still keeping the tire.

As for the trade, there are shops that do it, but not worth it. They won't give you enough to be worth it I don't think.

If anyone in SoCal in interested in doing the same thing, I highly recommend Discount Tires Center in El Monte. I picked up my new '06 4runner (surprisingly to me, they came with Dueler H/T) yesterday and drove directly to them. They let me upgrade to the Revos for only $260 out the door for the upgrade/tax/mounting/balancing.
