New Bridgestone Revos, finally.
I have been waiting for the Revos to go on sale. Could not pass up the $75 mail in. Here they are! I was going to get some front mud flaps and waited till the new tires were on..... glad I did, as you can see from the pix there is absolutely no room! 265/75/16

I have my eyes set on some 31 x 10.5 x 15 Bridgestone Winter duelers for my up north trip and everything I've read says they are excellent. |
I've never known bridgestones to last too long. I know theres alot of hardcore bridgstone lovers that will disagree, but my dad has had almost every type of tire on my 4runner and nothing's been as good as a cooper tire. My friend's bridgestones only got 10,000 miles of life out of em. Not to mention the're not a very aggressive A/T....I'd prefer the BFG over the Bridgestone. I guess its just me, but I wouldn't put em on my trucks.

jvangun Thanks for posting your pics...The rebate right now is pretty hard to pass on. I have been trying to decide between the BFG's and the REVO's. After checking the stat's on Tire Rack.com I finally decided on the REVO's. After seeing your pic's, going to go with the stock size. Don't get me wrong, the 75's look awesome... Just a little to close for me. Just curious, did it change your speedo reading any? Great looking ride! :bigok: |
I liek your dog!!

Thundercloud, I was very leary about doing anything to this truck such as changing from the factory tire size, however, going from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16 only throws my spedometer off about 3mph at 80!!! Check it out. I was nervous about going a hair bigger but, glad I did. The little extra really fills up the extra wheel well space. If you want anymore pix, let me know.

Speedometer Calibrator http://www.csgnetwork.com/speedocalibcalc.html Wow...Thank's for that link...Thats a keeper. Ok, you got me interested again in the 75's...I have to ask, any rubbing either lock to lock or over bumps? I have a street queen for now...just to new for me to do any wheeling so off road is not an issue. (I know I'm anal) How about a gas mileage difference, any change there? |
I have not noticed any rubbing including going over speed bumps in the neighborhood I live in. Gas mileage? I've only driven about 50 miles. I don't really do any rock crawling so imagine that these will do just fine for highway driving, wet pavement, snow, gravel, and mud. I would eventually like to get some new springs and shocks and figured might as well size up on the tires now since they will fit anyway rather than buying a new set once suspension is on.

Are the Revo's a decent offroad tire? I'm looking at them as well. I think the reviews at tire rack are mostly soccer moms and the like. My BFG A/T's never let me down when I had them on my '85 back in the early '90's, but I'm considering the Revo's. It's either the BFG A/T's or the Revo's, although one friend is telling me that the Pirelli Scorpion is very good, but I'm thinking that the Scorps probably suck and would get stuck in sand/mud faster than either the Revo or the BFG A/T's. Any opinions on how the Revo's hold against these two tires? I'm looking at 265/75/16's.
