You'll find some general tire size vs. lift information for the Tacoma below:

How much total lift? Cause if you tell me that I can give you a tire size. I work at a tire store so I know what works and what doesn't.

oh cool, yeah the front is a 3" and the rear is a 2". The tire chart that 4crawler showed me said that the front would fit a 33x9.50, but im not to sure if this size will fit on the back.

Usually if a tire fits up front, it'll fit in the back just as well. Why? Front tires move up and down with the suspension, but they also have this nasty habit of turning side to side as you steer. And since the tire sits outboard of the steering knuckle pivot point, it sweeps out an arc while turning side-side. So you need more room to fit that sort of tire inside the wheel well that the rear tires that just move up and down only.

A tire that many people people run with those type of lifts is 265/75/16, this tire fills out the wheel-well fairly well. If you want an even better tire with that lift you can squeeze in 285/75/16 (roughly 33's). Im running these on my truck, and only have slight rubbing at full lock.

Okay cool, so if i have the 15" stock alloy wheels the only thing that would change on the tire size would be the 16 to a 15 correct?

yotaman101 12-03-2009 04:49 PM

oh, since you have 15" wheels you will not be able to run the 285 tire becuase it is not available for the 15" rim. The 265/75/15 tire is available but you won't have to much to choose from. So you best option would either be a 32x11.50R15 tire (which is 11.5 inches wide and 32 inches tall) or a 33x11.50R15

alright then, thanks for all the help!

yep...not a problem

you could even go with a 33x10.5x15 i think only bfg and super swampers come in this size.
